Results That Stick

Results That Stick

Mani came in with a shoulder injury the other week so I did a few things for him to help relieve some of the pain and gain some range of motion. Now it didn't "fix" his shoulder completely as he still has pain now but it did allow him to do some better rehab and just get around better in day to day activities.

The best part about it for me is how well the gains made stuck. A lot of treatment I have had in the past has felt good for a short period but feels like I go back to where I was a day later or sometimes even just by the time I have driven home.

Working with so many rugby league players and jiu-jitsu athletes has given me a lot of exposure to shoulder injuries, how to help relieve some pain, and how to prevent them. We refer on to a good team who takes this further so we can always get you back to competition a lot quicker.

Shoulder Rehab - Leam

Shoulder Rehab - Leam

Leam Carr came in to get a few assessments done so I could prepare his training program for him over the coming weeks. As you can see he had some very poor internal rotation of his shoulders which was causing him some pain. I done a few things for him and then he was pain free and had very noticeable improvements in his range of motion.

This is not a one off we have many results like this.

Performance Sessions - Shoulder

Performance Sessions - Shoulder

I caught up with Mike the other day and as we were going through his strength training program I noticed he really carried his right shoulder and asked if it had been injured. Mike told me it had and explained to me that he has worked out ways to protect it whilst training and competing in jiu-jitsu. I gave it a quick little test to see the range of motion and it was like a moving a piece of steel. I told him we would finish going through the program and do his nutritional stuff and then I'd help get some range into it for him.
As you can see there was quite a dramatic improvement and it didn't take me more than two minutes to do. Actually you can tell how by the clock in the background. That wasn't planned but I suppose it shows you that you can get quite good results in a short period of time. These results will last a while too, exactly how long I am not sure, but as Mike trains through a better range of motion some of the results will stick. Next time I catch up with Mike I will do a bit of soft tissue work beforehand and he will have even better improvement.

If you want some of the same please feel free to contact us.
