Congratulations to Simon Watson on making the MFA Rep Soccer Team.
Simon has been consistently training in the gym 3 days a week for the last 10 months in order to achieve this goal. When he first started training he was unable to stay on the field for a full game and was finding it hard to keep up with the pace of the game.
We started Simon with a basic structural balance program and corrective program to address his mobility issues before we started any type of strength program. He is now able to deadlift and squat with excellent technique and without pain.
With all of our athletes, especially the younger ones, our primary focus is to keep the body healthy and prepare it for heavier training loads later in life. Being so young most coaches would be hesitant to take him on in fear that they may cause injury. Knowing your way around the body at all ages is extremely important, particularly with children. Simon has spent that last 10 months playing every game without injury. He is now able to stay on the field for the full game and is setting the pace for his team.
At only 12 years old he has shown discipline and dedication that some adult clients could learn from.
We look forward to seeing him play in the upcoming season.
