Bronze at Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Bronze at Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship

We would like to congratulate Bruno on his bronze medal at the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship yesterday. It wasn't the result he had work so hard for but he should be very proud of his efforts.

Bruno lost by refs decision in the semi finals and many people feel that it went the wrong way. Bruno would never say that and will just take it in his stride as he is the ultimate professional and wouldn't want to make excuses or take anything away from his competitor. This is why he is such a champion of a bloke and continues to have success throughout his career and life.

Bruno's preparation for this competition was really good. He is one of the hardest working athletes I have ever met. A lot of people see the results but not the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. If someone spent a day in his life I think they would be shocked as to what it takes to reach this high level. All the jiu-jitsu training sessions, the strength work in the gym, the extra conditioning work, the discipline to stick to a nutrition plan and weight cut, pushing through painful injuries, all those things are the things only Bruno and a few people close to him get to see. He more than likely has a broken wrist and hurt his knee late in the preparation but despite all this goes on with his business like nothing is wrong and still performs so well at a world level. I have the upmost respect for Bruno and all he does. There are few people in the world that are like this and it is why he is such a great person to be around.

This was the last time Bruno will compete in Abu Dhabi after having competed there 8 times. He has had great success and it has been a great experience working with him from 2016 to date. Bruno is the first world champion we have ever worked with and for me that 2016 gold medal he won was one of the greatest things in my life. I still get goose bumps thinking about it and remember being awake for close to a full 24 hours because I was so excited and proud. In 2017 Bruno won goldwithout a single point being scored on him. That is an amazing achievement. He is a great athleteand human being.

This is a post from Bruno after the competition. What a great record he has at this event.
