Gold at IBJJF Pan Pacific Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2017 for Garces Gals

We would like to congratulate both the Garces girls, Tamara and Samantha, on their great results at the IBJJF Pan Pacific Jiu-Jistu Championship held over the weekend.
Tamara won gold in her Gi division and then came 2nd in the open weights where she came up against an opponent that would have been double her body weight. It was a huge effort. In the no Gi she won her division and then came 3rd in the open weights class.
Sam won double gold. Winning both her weight class and the open weight class with Gi. Sam was pretty crook on the day of competition too, so to be able to focus and still win gold in both divisions showed really good character and will to win.
The girls keep going from strength to strength each competition. This is because they are never satisfied with their performances and are always working to fix any mistakes they may have made and to be better each time they compete.
It was really exciting watching the girls compete over the weekend and we look forward to the next timenextime.
