Don't Get Caught Up In the Superficial

Don't Get Caught Up In the Superficial

In Today's world we are surrounded by so many different inputs and material things that we can lose sight of the real important things. To me the important things in life are the connections I have been family and friends. All else can be taken away from me but how I feel about them and how they feel about me cannot. Personally, I have to work harder to spend more time with loved ones as I do get caught up in work and study a fair bit. This is an area I am looking to nurture more than I have in the past few years.

I believe doing a grateful log or some type of journal should be done by everyone. I learnt this from Charles Poliquin and it works great. It will help clear your mind and also help you focus on what is important to you. Also, they say what you appreciate, appreciates. So you will attract more of whatever it is you love into your life.

Do what you love to do and you will enjoy each day much more and you will be more successful. Spend time with those that you love to be around and be grateful for them and you will be happy.

“Hold fast, then, to this sound and wholesome rule of life—that you indulge the body only so far as is needful for good health. The body should be treated more rigorously, that it may not be disobedient to the mind. Eat merely to relieve your hunger; drink merely to quench your thirst; dress merely to keep out the cold; house yourself merely as a protection against personal discomfort. It matters little whether the house be built of turf, or of variously coloured imported marble; understand that a man is sheltered just as well by a thatch as by a roof of gold. Despise everything that useless toil creates as an ornament and an object of beauty. And reflect that nothing except the soul is worthy of wonder; for to the soul, if it be great, naught is great.” - Seneca
